Report 7

I haven't written a report in awhile but I have been busy working on PortageGui and I helped at the open house for COSI and the ACM. I also went to the Xen workshop which was very interesting. I tried installing it on my Fedora Core 2 system but didn't have any luck getting it working. Now I am using Fedora Core 3 so when I have time to try it again I think it will work.

I fixed a lot of bugs and added some new features to the PortageGui project. I fixed the bug that was causing the incorrect package to be installed when switching from the search list to the tree view. I also fixed the bug that was causing the CPU usage to go to 100% when using the search list or installing a package.

I added some icons to the GUI so that the user can tell which packages are already installed. I haven't finished it for the tree yet because as usual everything with the tree is more difficult. I also created a new button that you can click that will show only the packages that are installed. I am going to make it into a tree view instead of a list so that it is easier to browse. I have most of the GUI done for reverting packages and I think Kevin is working on the backend tar functions since I was having trouble with them.
